There are two types of shoes covers on the market today:
- Disposable shoe covers – single use plastic shoe covers.
Pros: inexpensive and lightweight
Cons: easy to tear apart, single use, bad for the environment, slippery, one size fits all which typically does not fit work boots
- Reusable shoe covers - typically made out of fabric and can be reused many times.
Pros: non-slip, heavy duty, can be reused for years thus generating less landfill when compared to disposable shoe covers, different sizes and can fit work boots, washable
Cons: higher Initial cost, heavier when compared to disposable shoe covers, must be washed or cleaned
